Making money from a forum staight away is difficult. First forum should gain a little popularity. If you put memship or subscription people should have reason to avail them. Ads also help but I haven't had that much success with ads before. There are other ways if you provide products or services. Which is the the best way in my opinion.

The honest truth is that it's never easy to make money from a forum. Most webmasters make use of Google Adsense, Infolinks, Crypto ads networks and so many more but they all doesn't pay much especially when your forum isn't having thousands of impression every day and tons of traffic.

Yeah, it's all about large traffic and also how targeted it is, among other things.  Well, a small amount of well targeted traffic could also lead to big bucks and what might be an example of that?  I would say it could be ads targeted to the rich.
