From a user perspective I don't think it really makes a difference how a site performs. If you like to take a step towards saving the environment while running your website, this might be an option.

I don't think green hosting is more expensive these days. They simply can't be to be competitive probably.

I've never used Green Hosting. SiteGround have been my number go to when it comes to web hosting company. They've never disappointed me.
